Such a clever and beautiful way to make most of the your landscapes! Imagine all the light that floods up the room during the daylight hours…and all the twinkling lights one could see of the landscapes at night.

Its inspirational, calming, soothing, relaxing and also invigorating!

Its ‘The’ mix

Heres my take on a eclectic mix of homeware that i have instantly fallen in love with. It actually started out with just doorknobs, more of which i will share regularly, but this time the search led me to creating this little moodboard.

What i like the most is that although each of these pieces can stand alone quite comfortably, but even by mixing them hasn’t really made them too over powering. Theres quite a bit going on here.We have a smart faux croc cushion, comfy pure cotton sofa, pretty ceramic doorknobs, yup! they are all door knobs (begoniacreamred) , sleek turtle shell(resin though) picture frame, gorgeous wood chandelier with satin lampshades, rich blue embroidered cushion and last but not the least, the iconic Showdown lamp in Chrome.

So, the key piece that holds everything together? – is the sofa. With its graceful country lines and a more, lets say nautical blue and white stripe fabric, rest of the accessories sit together nice and well.

And look at that red petal doorknob with golden border, quite rightly named ‘Brilliant Blossom Red’, it almost looks like a little ornament on its own. Super beautiful.

My top 3, however??

1. The Chandelier

2. Brilliant Blossom Red doorknob

3. Showdown Lamp, but ofcourse : ).

Which would be your top 3?

More on the climbing side of things

While we are on staircases, i thought we took a look at these too!

A metal marvel…star trekky?

For the storage solving minds …

Wooden/Oak Staircase

Take a look at this!

Simple clean organic oak staircase. It almost has this earthy feel to it that sits rather comfortably against the modern clean black and white lines.

I have come across similar designs but not anything quite like this. Its the storage side of design that has intrigued me more. How versatile! Swap all those trinkets and memorabilia with a new colour scheme of objects.

My options or personalised colour schemes would be somewhat like the following:

  • Black & white and metal, could be anything from unique vases, frames, books..a good balance of matte and reflective surfaces is the key here.
  • Blue and white decorative jars/pots ( the type of blue you see on china pots).
  • Colourful – hot pinks/greens/reds/yellows (bring on a colourful Indian touch).

I mean the possibilites are endless. Let our imaginations roll!!!

At the end of the day, what matters most is that whatever you put there reflects you and your personality.

What do you think? How would you decorate it?

Bright and beautiful

My love for paisley exemplifies this find from Horchow. Wow! I am completely in love with it. What a lovely uplifting colour! Simple, chic and totally versatile in its design. I think it would be a beautiful addition to any room such as living room, conservatory, even a large bedroom, hallway or other formal sitting areas.

Team it with a dark blue velvet buttoned sofa to create some grandeur or  have it sitting on its own by the double fronted bay window (nice!) or with this contemporary steel leg   tom-foolery  sofa for that off beat look.
